We adhere to the 5 Solas of the Reformation, the 5 points of Calvinism (known at TULIP) and our faith is best articulated in the Three Forms of Unity

What We Believe:

We Believe…

1. The scriptures of the Old & New Testament as being inspired by God and inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority.

2. In one God eternally existing in one essence, yet co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

3. That Jesus Christ was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the virgin Mary.

4. In the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment He is the life of the believer and He empowers the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.

5. That mankind was created in the image of God, sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God, and that human beings are born with a sinful nature.

6. That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.

7. In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us.

8. In the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at the end of the age. We are Amillenial.

9. That all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

10. In the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost in hell and the fellowship of the saved in heaven.

11. In the existence of a personal devil, who is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men and that he and all his angels and all who do not receive Christ as their personal Savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire.

12. In the Church, whose mission it is to preach the Scriptures to the entire world, all of its endeavors being guided by multiple leadership and supported by the wise stewardship of God’s people.

13. That the sacraments of the Church, given by the Lord, are Baptism and the Lord’s Table (Communion).

The 5 Solas of the Reformation

Sola Scriptura/Scripture Alone: The inerrant Scripture is the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience.
Solus Cristus/Christ Alone: Our salvation is accomplished by the mediatorial work of the historical Christ alone.
Sola Gratia/Grace Alone: In salvation we are rescued from God's wrath by His grace alone. Salvation is of his unmerited love and not of man's works. God's grace in Christ is not merely necessary but is the sole efficient cause of salvation. We confess that human beings are born spiritually dead and are incapable even of cooperating with regenerating grace.
Sola Fide/Faith Alone: The knowledge of Scripture alone and the believing of and commitment to such knowledge shows forth that Christ alone is the object of saving faith through which we are justified by his atonement for our sins.
Soli Deo Gloria/To God Alone Be the Glory: Because salvation is of God and has been accomplished by God, it is for God's glory. Therefore, we must glorify Him always.

What do we mean by “TULIP”?

Total Depravity:   Sin has affected all parts of man. The heart, emotions, will, mind, and body are all affected by sin. We are completely sinful. We are not as sinful as we could be, but we are completely affected by sin. (Rom 5:12; Eph 2:1-3; Jer 17:9)

Unconditional Election:  God does not base His election on anything He sees in the individual. He chooses the elect according to the kind intention of His will (Eph. 1:4-8; Rom. 9:11) without any consideration of merit within the individual. Nor does God look into the future to see who would pick Him.  (Deut. 10:14,15; Titus 1:1; Rev. 13:8)

Limited Atonement:  Jesus died only for the elect. Though Jesus’ sacrifice was sufficient for all, it was not efficacious for all. Jesus only bore the sins of the elect. (Math 1:21; John 10:11, 14-18; Eph. 5:25-26)

Irresistible Grace:   When God calls his elect into salvation, they cannot resist. God offers to all people the gospel message. This is called the external call. But to the elect, God extends an internal call and it cannot be resisted. This call is by the Holy Spirit who works in the hearts and minds of the elect to bring them to repentance and regeneration whereby they willingly and freely come to God. (Rom. 8;14; 1 Cor. 6:11; 1 Pet. 1:2)
Preservation of the Saints: You cannot lose your salvation. Because the Father has elected, the Son has redeemed, and the Holy Spirit has applied salvation, those thus saved are eternally secure. They are eternally secure in Christ. God is the one being faithful to perfect us until the day of Jesus’ return.  (John 3:36; John 6:35-40; Phil 1:6)
